Identification method: Identification by EDS analysis, (polished grain). Reddingite forms a series with phosphoferrite. Reddingite is the manganese dominant member: (Mn,Fe)3(PO4)2·3H2O , phosphoferrite is the iron dominant member: (Fe,Mn)3(PO4)2·3H2O . The EDS analysis clearly indicates this is the Mn dominant member. The large carbon peak in the plot is due to the carbon coating applied to the sample grain epoxy block for analysis. The "Zr" annotation is likely a miss-assignment by the element association software.
